Days after her father, Vince McMahon, retired and returned as Executive Chairman of WWE, Stephanie McMahon stepped down from the company. Stephanie McMahon has been co-CEO alongside Nick Khan since Vince McMahon announced his retirement due to allegations of decades of sexual harassment.
Stephanie tweeted an image announcement of her retirement under the WWE slogan “Then. Now. Forever. Together”.
“About eight months ago I took a vacation and a few weeks later I suddenly had the opportunity of a lifetime. I have been honored to return as co-CEO and Chairman of the Board of WWE. I cannot express in words how proud I am to lead what I consider to be the greatest company in the world, working alongside an amazing leadership team and one of the strongest leaders I have ever known in my co-CEO Nick Khan.
“Our founder, Vince McMahon, has returned as Executive Chairman and is leading an exciting process of strategic alternatives. And with Nick’s leadership and Paul “Triple H” Levesque as Chief Content Officer, I’m confident that WWE is in the perfect place to continue to provide unrivaled creative content and deliver maximum value to shareholders.”
Stephanie McMahon did announce her retirement before being called to action, as Vince McMahon retired after several reports surfaced of allegedly paying silence money to several women during his time with WWE.
She later said in a statement that she was going further than a vacation and was announcing her full resignation instead.
Stephanie McMahon is married to Levesque, who had a heart problem in 2022. The couple has three children.
