The New Orleans Saints have best colored uniform in the NFL, so why not have better alternative helmets too?
With the relaxation of NFL rules on teams wearing an alternate helmet for certain games, teams have shown off several new looks. It is hard to believe that any of them can defeat the black helmets of the Saints.
On Thursday, the team tweeted out the new helmets:
It looks like the new helmets will be worn with color rush uniforms, though Saints hasn’t announced a specific game in which they’ll be wearing the new look.
It’s hard to find a new uniform/mascot/team name or anything else that gets a lot of support on social media. The new helmets of the Saints may be close.
The traditional gold-colored New Orleans helmets with black fleur-de-lis are among the finest in the NFL. Somehow, the Saints could surpass him.
It’s also a bit of a callback. In 1969, the Saints wore black helmets during preseason but the NFL forced them back to regular gold helmets in the regular season. Over 50 years later, black Saints helmets were approved.
While it’s hard to believe that anyone wouldn’t approve of the Saints’ new caps, what do you think of their new alternate helmets?
