Bengals quarterback after appendectomy Joe Burrow returned to the facility this week. And although he was on the field, he had not trained yet.
Head coach Zach Taylor said at his Friday press conference that Burrow was still considered “everyday” but declined to provide a schedule for when QB would return to training.
Taylor added that he wouldn’t call Burrow games or anything like that during the sessions.
“I do not think it is necessary for him“Taylor said. “I think he’s been pretty introverted and focused. He’s in meetings and helps lead some of the meetings – like today. So he’s been really busy and I don’t think we need that to stimulate him. He does a pretty good job of it.”
Taylor declined to say how he thought Barrow felt, so he did not speak on behalf of the signalman. But the plan is still to just take things from day to day and eventually build Burrow into the regular season.
“So we’re going to progress,” Taylor said. “I hate setting a timeline. He’s got a lot of good mental work going on right now.”
